Pencilpoint is proud and excited to partner with the Ann Arbor District Library to present a staged reading of CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION by Annie Baker as part of our Pub Reading Series!

The play centers on small-town Vermont residents who gather for a weekly acting class at their local community center. While playing seemingly trivial theater games, they begin to wage quiet wars against one other and discover small insights about themselves. Bittersweet, perceptive, and sharply funny, it won the 2010 Obie Award for Best New American Play.

The Ann Arbor Pub Reading Series is an informal, frills-free environment at the local pub to hear local actors read aloud from outstanding plays. It’s based on the concept of Irish pub-readings, where friends get together for a pint and listen to a well-known or influential play.
